The Indian Paintbrush Journal is my first in print journal design. I am so excited to share it with you! The first had to be special, so I combined three of my favorite things. The flower, the sunset, and a journal.

The Indian Paintbrush is my favorite flower. It grows wild in North America, Asia, and Russia. Formally known as the Castilleja, Indian Paintbrush is simply its most popular common name. The native american legend says that an indian was having trouble painting a sunset. Upon asking the Great Spirit for help, he was provided with paintbrushes. After finishing his painting he discarded the paintbrushes and they grew into flowers.

The legend is much more detailed but you get the gist! The coolest part for me is that this was my favorite flower long before I knew the legend was connected to an artist.

Journaling has been a passion of mine for years. Over the years, my own journaling has morphed and changed. I currently write two full pages for my morning pages each morning, as well as bullet journal daily. I also carry with me a smaller journal for on the go writing. This design is available in two sizes : 5×8 and 6×9.

Things To Know

  1. The paper weight on these journals is low, but I have still been able to use watercolor. In areas where I went too heavy with the water, there was bleed through. You can not use heavy watercolor or other wet medias.
  2. Images on the screen appear more shiny and bright. The matte finish of the books will mute the colors slightly.
